How to Use?
For optimal nutrition, welfare, and performance, your horse needs adequate forage (spread out over several meals per day) and a constant supply of fresh drinking water. This foundation can be then supplemented with a balancer or concentrate feed as needed to meet all your horse’s nutritional requirements. Lastly, you can fine-tune your horse’s diet with supplements for specific needs. #feedasyouneed
Feeding recommendations for Cavalor WholeGain
For a shiny coat, we recommend feeding your horse a maximum of 0.1 lbs per 220 lbs body weight per day. For a 1200 lbs. horse this means 0.6 lbs. per day.
For cool energy, we recommend a minimum of 0.2 lbs. and maximum 0.3 lbs. per 220 lbs. body weight per day. For a 1200 lbs. horse this means a minimum of 0.9 lbs. and a maximum of 1.8 lbs. per day.
For weight gain, we recommend feeding your horse a maximum of 0.3 lbs. per 220 lbs. body weight per day. For a 1200 lbs horse this means 1.8 lbs. per day.
Divide the concentrate feed over several portions per day, preferably after feeding forage.
Cavalor® WholeGain provides concentrated nutrients and is intended to be fed at lower feeding rates in addition to a base ration. Feed a maximum of 2lbs of Cavalor® WholeGain daily to your horse in addition to your current feed ration for weight gain. Most horses do well on only 1 to 1.5lb added to their daily ration. For ponies, feed a maximum of 1lb of Cavalor® WholeGain daily. Since this is a very calorically dense feed, Cavalor® WholeGain can replace up to 2lbs of your horse’s normal daily grain ration for every 1lb of Cavalor® WholeGain added for horses that are currently at a good body condition.
Daily feeding rate in addition to at least 1.25 % of live body weight in forage. Always provide salt and free access to clean, fresh water. These feeding recommendations are intended as a guideline only. Feeding rates may need to be adjusted based on the body condition and activity level of the individual horse being fed.
