Cavalor Pianissimo is a fibre-rich muesli for nervous sporthorses. Formulated without oats and for horses with a sensitive stomach and gut. It contains long fibres which stimulate chewing and intestinal motility. The long fibres are timothy which is gentle on the stomach lining. Contains pre- ,pro- and postbiotics for the development of a healthy intestinal flora. With puffed cereals
and extrudates for easy digestion.
Cavalor Pianissimo is a level 1 feed for sensitive horses.

Feed as you need
The foundation of good nutrition for your horse is adequate roughage and access to fresh drinking water. Supplement this
base with concentrates or a balancer depending on the individual nutritional needs of the horse. Use supplements to fine tune.
Feeding recommendations for Cavalor Pianissimo
We recommend a minimum of 400 g to maximum 650 g per 100 kg body weight per day. For a 600 kg horse this means a
minimum of 2.4 kg and a maximum of 3.9 kg per day. Divide the concentrate feed over several portions per day, preferably after
feeding roughage.
Inner balance
For nervous horses, inner balance is the key to top performance.
Magnesium plays an important role in nervous system regulation and muscle relaxation. A nervous or stressed horse needs more magnesium and the higher magnesium content in Pianissimo can support horses mentally and physically during stressful times or periods of intense physical activity.
There is a clear link between nervous behaviour and an upset gastrointestinal system. That is why it’s important to support
this balance. Easily digestible raw materials and a balanced diet put less of a strain on the digestive system.
Pianissimo contains a balanced combination of fibre, easily digestible starch, an adapted fat content and extras like pre-, pro- and postbiotics that help keep a horse’s gastrointestinal system in balance.
Sensitive gut & stomach
There is also a clear link between nervous behaviour and an upset gastrointestinal system. When the gut microbiome is under
strain, extra support can be helpful.
A higher content of carefully selected fibre sources plays a key role here. Fibre supports
a healthy and stable digestive functioning and is an important source of energy for a horse. It stimulates gut motility, supports
the development and the activity of the gut microbiome and protects the sensitive stomach due to increased chewing and
greater spit production.
Sugar and starch are sources of energy for a horse, but an excess can disrupt the digestive system in sensitive horses. A moderate sugar and starch content derived from easily digestible ingredients can be used safely. It reduces the risk of intestinal acidification, gut issues and digestive upset. The added pro- and postbiotics support good gut bacteria and strengthen the intestinal wall and the horse’s immune system.
No oats
Oats are a source of energy and nutrients and are often used in food for sport horses. Oats provide lots of energy quickly;
sometimes too much for horses that do not have high energy needs. Cavalor Pianissimo therefore does not contain oats.
Extrudates for better digestion
By using extrusion — a state-of-the-art technology — nutrients are easier to digest and absorb.
An easily digestible feed helps a horse to get more out of every meal. The easier it is to digest, the more efficiently the horse can
absorb and use energy and nutrients from the feed. During the extrusion process, the ingredients are pre-cooked to allow them
to be absorbed and used more easily by the body. Extrusion increases the digestibility of the starch in the ingredients. This
starch release lowers the risk of undigested starch particles entering the colon. Undigested starch in the colon acidifies it and
increases the risk of health problems like colic, laminitis and muscle problems.
With their unique texture and volume, the extruded pieces stimulate chewing and ensure that horses eat more slowly. The
increased chewing stimulates spit production, which contributes to the overall health of the gastrointestinal system.
Extra fibers
Horses naturally need fibre, as it is the most important source of energy but also encourages gut health. Fibre is also crucial
to a horse’s well-being. The increased fibre content and added long fibres are a good source of nutrients for gut flora. In
addition, they ensure that the horse chews for longer and produces more spit, which has a positive effect on digestion. The
extra fibre slows down absorption, prevents boredom and ensures an even wearing down of teeth.
