Research behind the product: Arti Repair

Care must be taken during periods of recovery in horses, for example after tendon, joint or bone injuries. Arti Repair, an innovative product from Cavalor, is designed to provide a nutritional contribution to the body’s natural repair processes. The product combines important building blocks with innovative forms of collagen and essential oils.

Field tests

The development of Arti Repair began with the search for functional foods that can support the natural repair mechanism in bone, joint and ligament injuries. It looked at how this process can be nutritionally strengthened.
Field tests were conducted to assess the effects of a blend of essential oils on horses with a variety of injuries. Formulated based on the properties described in scientific studies of the individual ingredients, the blend proved particularly effective in supporting recovery from stress fractures, joint inflammation and tendon injuries.

The formula has since been further optimised with relevant building blocks, nutrients and undenatured Type I and Type II collagen.

Essential oils: powerful support for recovery

Arti Repair contains a unique blend of essential oils designed to stimulate recovery. These oils each have specific properties:

  • Dandelion oil: Protects against cell damage caused by overexertion, helps repair damaged tissue and supports tendon and joint healing. It also promotes cell repair response and plays a role in reducing overload in both tendons and joints.
  • Cinnamon oil: Has an overall positive impact on joint problems.
  • Clove oil: Stimulates blood circulation in hard-to-reach areas such as joints and tendons, improving the supply of nutrients and quicker removal of waste products. The improved blood circulation is key as it is often restricted in joints and tendons.
  • Lime oil: Promotes the development and repair of bones and cartilage. It also supports the repair of damaged cartilage and helps remove dead tissue.

The essential oils in Arti Repair have been extensively researched and proven to be effective in supporting the repair process.

Innovative collagen types: the difference between type I and II

Collagen plays a key role in Arti Repair, but not all collagen is the same. Arti Repair uses both denatured collagen, which acts as a building block, and native (undenatured) collagen, which reaches the large intestine intact.  Here it triggers a cascade of reactions, including reducing inflammation and repairing tissue. We distinguish two types of native collagen, each with unique benefits:

  • Type I collagen (eggshell membrane):
    • Stimulates the body’s production of hyaluronic acid, which is essential for joint lubrication and health.
    • Promotes the repair of soft tissue, such as tendons and ligaments.
    • Contains glycosaminoglycans (such as glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate), lysozyme and growth factors that contribute to recovery.
  • Type II collagen (UC-II):
    • Supports joint health by reducing inflammation.
    • Promotes mobility, comfort and flexibility.
    • Has been clinically studied and shown to be effective in treating joint pain and osteoarthritis.

The combination of these collagen types makes Arti Repair unique and suitable for both joint and tendon injuries.

Building blocks for recovery

Besides collagen, Arti Repair also contains other essential building blocks that contribute to recovery:

  • MSM and glucosamine: Support cartilage and joint function.
  • Vitamins and minerals:
    • Vitamin C: Stimulates collagen production.
    • Vitamin K3: Supports bone health by promoting bone metabolism.
    • Copper, zinc and manganese: Essential for connective tissue repair.

These ingredients work together to provide a complete recovery package.

When to use Arti Repair?

Arti Repair has been developed for horses recovering from:

  • Joint and tendon injuries.
  • Overexertion or stress fractures.
  • Situations where recovery and regeneration are needed.

The product provides nutritional support during recovery periods. It is a valuable addition for horses in rehabilitation.
